Wesley Govender is a seasoned Client Services professional. He held a variety of positions and roles over 16 years. He has been exposed to, and has serviced a myriad of clients across the industrial products, mining, telecommunications, financial services and public sector industries from a Data Analytics and business advisory perspective. Over and above his client roles, he is the head of operations and is responsible for the every-day running of the business, he has hands on experience in building and operating an analytics business. He has core expertise in growing and acquiring talent in the Analytics area.
He sets the example and drives the belief that a healthy organisation is people centric with an inclusive team culture, contains a diversity of skills and backgrounds, has a healthy revenue pipeline and is supported by structured and disciplined operations.
Throughout Werner’s career there has been a thread of information related initiatives, not originally by design, but over the years he developed a passion for information and data. For more than 15 years Werner has been focusing on Enterprise Information Management in all its forms, including data management and analytics. He has significant experience in the use of information in the enterprise as well as solution architecture for analytical solutions, data warehousing, business intelligence, master data management and data governance. He is passionate about the use of information to drive value and his significant experience across a number of industries and functional areas allows him to engage on a multitude of levels and find unique approaches to leverage information assets. He is the Business Area Leader of Deloitte Analytics which covers Pan Africa and is made up of a team of approximately 160 individuals.
Lionel Pillay has had extensive experience in a number of industries focusing on business improvement, controls and optimisation. This has been geared from a system selection process all the way to utilising analytics to better inform businesses around risk and potential business improvements. He has worked across South Africa and the United Kingdom and has displayed his adaptability to markets and business that span across borders. His ability to lead teams that are multi-skilled and -faceted has been a key strength and again demonstrates his flexibility in leading and delivering across various Deloitte service lines and offerings.

Akiva has over 15 years of professional services experience with a primary focus on large scale project execution within the Financial Services Industry. He has a wide-ranging skillset from business process & control design/implementation to business intelligence logical access control design and IT programme and project management/assurance.
Over the past 5 years, he has focused on designing and implementing analytical solutions for banks in order to assist them with leveraging their data asset – to fast track new system and product development, better understand their customers across multiple dimensions and drive regulatory compliance.
Akiva plays one of the Deloitte lead client services roles at a major South African bank and heads the financial services industry initiative for Deloitte Risk Advisory Africa.
Etienne joined Deloitte in 2009 as an IT Director. Prior to joining Deloitte, Etienne was a Director at another Big 4 and was responsible for their ERP business – including client delivery in Saudi Arabia, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the UAE.
Annelies has been working for Deloitte & Touche since 1998. Her professional network and experience included working in the UK (London), Russia (Moscow), Switzerland (Geneva) and Belgium (Brussels). She qualified as a Belgian Chartered Accountant in 2004. In February 2013, she joined the Deloitte South African practice where she is building the Johannesburg based Tax Management Consulting practice within Deloitte Tax.
Ryan Norris is an Associate Director in the Data Analytics competency primarily focused on Enterprise Analytics. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2013, Ryan was the chairman of the Business Intelligence COE and head of the Continuous Controls Monitoring Function for a large state owned entity. His role included building the control intelligence function and rolling it out across the organisation. Ryan has 12 years’ professional services experience in the analytics competency locally and internationally. He has focused his time on designing analytics and reporting solutions to address business requirements from diagnostic analysis to performance and control monitoring. His focus is on maximising the value organisations can gain by harnessing their information assets.
Avish is a senior member in the Risk Advisory Data Analytics team and plays an instrumental role in building the Next Generation Analytics and Business Intelligence practice in Africa, across the service lines. Avish has 15 years’ experience in, helping tier 1 companies align IT processes and projects, with business priorities, in order to drive strategic goals across the organisation. He has extensive program management and global business consulting experience, through successfully leading BI/analytic teams in numerous business transformation programs, for some of the world’s premier organisations.

Muzammil joined Deloitte Risk Advisory as a Senior Manager in Data Analytics and has run and worked on multiple engagements including the Finance MI Transformation project, and KYC Remediation. His core business development focus area and portfolio is Regulatory Analytics and his internal practice development focus areas are the Information Management Capability and Data Analytics Talent (including acquisition, growth and retention).
Nanette is currently an Associate Director in the Risk Advisory division at Deloitte and has a total of 13 years working experience. She is currently responsible for Graduate Recruitment and Training in the Data Analytics team at Deloitte. This includes creating and leading the Data Factory. The Data Factory delivers scalable data analytics capacity with Deloitte established standards and methodologies and a proven implementation approach. The Deloitte Data Factory offers graduates structured programme that fast-tracks their ability to deliver on data related projects, allowing them to add significant value to clients within a short time frame. She was previously responsible for the Assurance Analytics Team for the Data Analytics sub competency at Deloitte; this included Audit Support and non-Audit services to Audit clients.
